How to control trains and is it possible to do it in the game Red Dead Redemption 2?

I recently started playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and encountered difficulties in controlling trains. I don’t know how to properly control them and what actions need to be taken. I want to use trains to travel around the game world, but I can’t figure out how to do it.
